What Cove is not

Honest about what we don't do — so you can plan around it.

  • Cove is not enterprise software. No SSO, no central admin, no per-seat licensing. Each person buys Cove individually on their own Google account.
  • Cove is not a CRM, EMR, or ERP integration. The on-device design is a feature, but it means data stays in Cove unless you copy it elsewhere yourself.
  • Cove is currently Android-only. iOS expected when Apple's Foundation Models framework stabilizes (iOS 26+). For now, recommend Android-only travel devices for staff if Cove fits.
  • Translation is good for short conversational and business text. For 200-page contracts or court filings, use a professional translator and DeepL Pro.

On data residency and GDPR

Cove processes everything locally on your phone. There is no cloud database where your meeting notes or photos are stored — meaning data residency is, trivially, the country your phone is in. For GDPR purposes, Cove is data-minimal by design: we don't collect content data at all. The network audit page lists every outbound call (model download, purchase verification, opt-in newsletter, optional anonymous crash reports). For team purchases on Google Play, Google handles VAT and tax invoicing per region.
