Getting started
Your first 5 minutes with Cove.
Cove apps are designed to be useful immediately. Here's the shortest path from APK download to first translation.

1. Download the APK
Go to /download and tap the install button for the app you want (Travel / Voice / Photo / Health). Allow installation from unknown sources if your phone prompts you — Cove is not yet on the Play Store.

2. Open the app and grant minimal permissions
Travel needs camera and microphone for photo/voice translation. Voice needs microphone for recording. Photo needs camera. Health needs microphone if you want voice questions. Cove does not need contacts, location, or storage beyond what's strictly required.

3. Wait for the AI model to download (one time, on Wi-Fi)
On first launch, Cove downloads the Gemma 4 E2B model (~2.5 GB, Q4_0 quantized). This happens once and is shared across all four Cove apps. Connect to Wi-Fi and start the download — you can put your phone aside and check back in 5–10 minutes.

4. Run your first task
Travel: tap the camera button and photograph a sign. Voice: tap record and speak for 30 seconds. Photo: photograph anything and ask 'what is this?'. Health: tap the mic and ask 'what is acetaminophen used for?'.

5. Now go offline
Turn on airplane mode. Try the same task again. It should work identically — that's the on-device promise. If something fails offline, see the troubleshooting guide.
