Evidence-aware tool
Model storage calculator
Calculate a weight-storage lower bound, then add your own packaging, update, and runtime assumptions. This is a planning tool, not a device-compatibility verdict.
Planning output
- Theoretical weight lower bound
- 1.00 GB
- Artifact estimate with your allowance
- 1.20 GB
- Storage for simultaneous copies
- 2.40 GB
- Planning RAM with your reserve
- 2.00 GB
What this does not prove: real artifact size, peak RAM, model quality, hardware acceleration, thermal stability, or compatibility with a named device. Measure the exact artifact and task before publishing a support claim.
Formula and evidence boundary
The lower bound is parameters × bits ÷ 8. Real packages can be larger because formats may add metadata, mixed precision, architecture-specific structures, and tokenizer assets. Peak inference RAM also includes runtime buffers, KV cache, input tensors, operating-system headroom, and allocator behavior.
Use the result to plan a test, then follow the reproducible benchmark method and RAM requirements guide.
